Q: How much outdoor time do students get?
A: Outdoor time is a core part of Journey’s curriculum, with students exploring and learning in the natural landscape surrounding the school every week. The amount varies day to day depending on which lessons are being presented – some days include about an hour and a half outside, while other days the class spends the entire day outdoors.
Q: What does a typical day look like?
A: Each day centers around a 2-3 hour uninterrupted work cycle, with the length varying by age group. Students spend time outdoors both in the morning and the afternoon. Younger children in the Primary classroom have a rest period, Elementary students have a silent reading period, and older students move into seminar discussion before transitioning into an afternoon work cycle.
Q: Do you accept children with no prior Montessori experience?
A: Yes, we accept children with no prior Montessori experience. If the family understands what Montessori is and is willing to partner with the school to support the child, we can help them transition successfully into our program.

A: You can view our full calendar on our website here. School hours are 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, with aftercare available Monday through Thursday until 4:45 pm.
